Unless you stumble upon San Felipe during spring break during which 1000’s upon 1000’s of College kids from various origins come to party it up at El Rockodile on the malecon, or in the week preceding Easter which is Semana Santa in which Mexicans from all over the Baja flee to to the beach with tents and lots of family – not a lot happens in this tiny little town on the beach. This is what makes San felipe so special. West Coast travelers have known this destination for decades as a great camping destination. San Felipe has a real feel of tranquility. Southern California adults have talked of spending many camping trips with their families as youths. Not much has changed for these adults that spent so much time here as youths even with all the residential and resort development that has been happening. San Felipe is about as low- key as it gets which makes it an important stopover for those seeking insight into the “Old Baja” of yore. Ask anyone what there is to do in San Felipe and they will probably resp
  • Los Cabos

Los Cabos is collectively made up of Cabos San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo, and the East Cape. Los Cabos is one of Mexico’s hottest and exclusive vacation and retirement communities. You can enjoy fabulous resorts, a very active lifestyle, tons of adventure, endless shopping, exquisite dining and an array of incredible water sports that include diving, fishing, sun bathing, and numerous world class golf resorts. Los Cabos has more of a desert t landscape with a dryer climate and magnificent beauty. Vacationers will find themselves surrounded by cacti, honey brown mountains, stretches of white sand beaches with some of the clearest blue waters so it’s no wonder Los Cabos is such a popular travel destination. Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo are the two towns that make up the area and they are about 20 miles apart. The East Cape is a corridor of approximately 15 miles of beach decorated with fancy resorts and is between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. All of these parts collectively make up “The Capes”
  • Alamos
    3 members
Located in the Sierra Madre Occidental in Sonora is where you will find Alamos and it is a little city and very fun Mexican colony. Population in Alamos is only around 5900 and its elevation is 1,245 ft. Alamos holds much history of the conquistadors, mining barons, imperialists and revolutionaries and exists in the north as a colonial pueblo. Spanish romanticism and Old Mexico are the feelings you will get upon entering this small colonial pueblo city of Alamos. Alamos makes a great escape from the business of an overactive city life. The people are incredibly friendly and laid back. As I said earlier within Alamos there are about 5900 people and there are also another 3900 on the outskirts of Alamos. Alamos is a true gem! None of the outlying area even holds a candle to this historic pueblo city. The area offers almost year round sunshine with mild temperatures due to its elevation within the Sierras. Some days are cooler, a few hot days and beautiful rain storms occur during the months of July and August.
  • Barra de Navidad

Barra de Navidad is just a small country beach town in Jalisco, Mexico. Barra de Navidad has a population of under 6000 people and lies on the Coste Allegre. This small country beach town offers nothing but privacy and peacefulness. Located about 110 miles south of Puerto Vallarta it has many wonderful beaches and the nicest people in Mexico. Barra de Navidad is a small fishing and farming community. The history of this wonderful little town dates back to the 16th century when Spanish utilized it to construct ships, make repairs to the ships and as a stopping point between there and the Philippines. There lies a rather big lagoon near Barra de Navidad where fishing boats collect scallops and transportation for vacationers and indigenous people from Barra to Isla Navidad where you will find the Grand Bay Hotel is said to be the best hotel in Mexico by the popular TV Channel that explores travel. There are available water taxis that take passengers from Colmilla to the shore lined with wonderful restaurants.
  • Aguascalientes

A very attractive colonial city in the Northern central part of Mexico. The state and city share the same name of Aquascalientes as in several other Mexican cities and states. This is a city rich in historical treasure and dates back to 1575. The city’s name Aquascalientes is translated as hot water. The reason for its name is that Aquascalientes has an abundance of natural thermal hot springs. This city was established to be an outpost from Chichimic Indians that lived in the area. Auascalientes is a popular stop between Mexico City and Zacatecas where they have silver mines. In the Plaza de Patricia square you will enjoy several restored colonial era buildings as well as a lot of sightseeing. Here you will find the famous Palacio de Gobierno that retains pink stoned walls, an amazing courtyard and you will find Diego Riviera styled murals painted by a Chilean artist named Oswaldo Barra Cunningham. You will not want to miss Cathedral Basilica that sits on the west side of the square and features paintings by t

Due to the ease in which one can get to Tampico it it has grown to be a very significant port. Tampico and its sister cities of Altamira and Madero are very metropolitan. The tourism and industry is a large part of why this city sees so much growth and success. The weather in Tampico is rather warm with a tropical feel.
