Here comes Easter break again and young people will be young people - high school and college kids will travel to distant places where the drinking age is either less than it is in the U.S. or where authorities don't care to enforce minors' drinking laws. For several decades Mexico has been one such place of choice where the legal drinking age is 18. Mazatlan , Acapulco , Puerto Vallarta and Cancun were the fly to favorite places and Rosarito Beach and Ensenada the favorite drive to places from Southern California . - But not this year, or for that matter neither was it last year.
Our government and the U.S. media have convinced most Americans that Mexico is not a safe place to visit as drug traffickers are fighting it out to see which gang will have the right to sell their illicit drugs to the very group that will not be visiting Mexico . They will have to wait until they return fro... less

Rocky Point, Puerto Penasco
Puerto Penasco is a tiny fishing town on the Sea of Cortez. Rocky Point as Americans would call it has grown into a very popular and modern vacation destination. Located around 60 miles from the United States border which makes this a popular vacation spot for US visitors. Puerto Penasco is sometimes referred to as the Arizona beach seeing as how it is only 3-1/2 hours from Phoenix. You can travel here easily and fast.
The white sandy beaches of rocky point can create a very memorable and convenient vacation. The hotels in Rocky point are no longer hotels but massive luxurious resorts where you can drink, dine and even take in a spa day.
You have the option in staying in town in some of the older hotels or you can stay right on Sandy beach where they have state of the art golf courses, concierge and a variety of water sport activities. Rocky Point is also a great place to go horseback riding, and there are several off road vehicle rentals available.
