Puerto Vallarta used to be all the rage in this area of Mexico, however because of the recent boom in development, more and more tourists are choosing to spend their vacation time on the shores of the Bay of Bandera’s. Many people forgo even stopping in Puerto Vallarta because it is so busy and urban and does not provide for much of an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Bay of Banderas has become increasingly popular among vacationers due to the beautiful shoreline and impressive mountains.
In the smaller areas of the Bay of Banderas travelers can really get a lot of bang for their buck. The beaches are not over populated with sunbathers and there is a lot to do for entertainment as far as outdoor activities are concerned. The Bay of Banderas is a lot like how Puerto Vallarta used to be prior to the boom in development and industry. Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular vacation spots among travelers so it is no wonder that Puerto Vallarta became so urban and metrop... less

On the beaches of Perula you will see a lot more fishing boats than you will people. Punta de Perula is most northern point here and it contains the beach called Playa Perula which is a wonderful place to swim. If you walk for about an hour on this beach you will wind up at the Polinesia Villa Motel which also has campsites and is better known as Play Chamela. The area is here is quite desolate and is great place to start a long walk which will take you to Playa Rosada. In Playa Rosada the waves are bigger and are more suitable for surfing or boogie boards. From time to time you may see some palapa covered area to retreat from the sun and a water taxi occasionally drifts by with passengers eager to visit or fish. If you wish to take a water taxi all around the area the charge is 610 pesos and that includes a wonderful fishing excursion. You can find better deals around town, the best people to ask are the fisherman themselves.

Sayulita is on the Pacific Coast of Nayarit, Mexico, and it began as a small fishing town. Since then, it has become the prime vacation spot for people all over the world. What mostly attracts tourists is the fact that it hasn't become Americanized with all of the Americans coming in and out. The residents there have been very good about keeping their town small and charming, still capturing the Mexican culture perfectly. The city is covered in amazing, wild jungles and beautiful, white sandy beaches.
The best places to stay there are the lovely resorts, condominiums, and beach homes along the shore. It provides the shortest walk to the beach (you're already there!) and the most beautiful views.
The weather stays in the 70's and 80's all year, which means that the ocean water temperature is always perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
It's also the perfect temperature for surfing, but the waves can get pretty big, so you'll want to make sure you're up to th... less

The hotels in Santa Rosalia are not of the best quality. Your best bet would be to stop in Santa Rosalia as a day trip and then reserving a hotel in san Ignacio which is the neighboring town. You could also go a little to the south and stay the night in Mulege which has much nicer accommodations. If you insist on staying in Santa Rosalia you may find comfort in the Hotel Olvera which you will find located in the Plaza on Calle 14 and it is located just a few blocks away from the Constitucion shore. You can get to the shore by walking across the bridge. This hotel has definitely seen better days and is not a luxurious hotel by any means. The good thing about this hotel is it is in close proximity of the town and has easy access to just about anywhere you wish to go while in Santa Rosalia. A single person room will cost 210 pesos a night, and if you wish to have air conditioning you will need to pay an additional 50 pesos a night. The two person rooms go for 260 pes... less

This monument was built in the early 1900's by the same people to build the London monument of Big Ben. The construction took many years because the builders kept running out of money to fund the project. It was completed in 1911 it had cost over 350,000 pesos. Back then this had to be paid for in gold. There are four other statues on the 3rd level f the plaza and they all represent liberty, independence, constitution and reform. The statues can be viewed as well as climbed from 9am-6pm and it will cost 25 pesos if you wish to climb them.
