You will find that Bahia De Navidad is just a little ways down the coast from Puerto Vallarta. Bahia de Navidad contains the two very small towns of Barra de Navidad and Melaque. These towns are more focused on fishing although they do see some tourism in the months of December and the week of Semana Santa. The only other big activity is lounging on the beach. You would think many more people would travel here as it is so calm and the glittered sand is incredibly inviting. There are several beautiful bungalows and clubs that line the beach but the only time they see any tourist action is in the high season. The towns of Barra de Navidad and Melaque are situated 26 miles north of the city of Manzanillo and 120 miles to the south of Guadalajara. Melaque is more north than Barra de Navidad and also transportation is very simple on the buses that handle local transit between the two towns.
