  • Valle Escondida This stop is more known for being a roadside business versus a village of sorts. Valle Escondida is one of the best places to dine and lodge yourself while traveling on the Carretera Fronteriza in between Palenque and Frontera Corozal. At this stop you will find a wonderful and delicious breakfast buffet that is served every day from 7am. Here you will have your choice of beans, eggs, coffee, fresh squeezed juices, and fresh handmade tortillas. The dining area is open air and in the middle of the forest. This place gets quite crowded because every guided tour bus stops here en route to Yaxchilan and Bonampak. This makes a great eating spot while on your travels. You will also find a variety of available cabanas on the other side of the highway near the owner house. There are deluxe options which provide a king sized bed as well as a couple single beds.
